Monday Bets, California Banning DFS, & What to Bet on This Week
Sports Betting: June 30 - July 6, 2025
Community Cappers Lock In Their Weekly Picks
Last Week: 1-1 | -0.25u
Trevor Rogers Under 4.5 Ks (-134) ✅ / The UNDERground Lab
Goldschmidt/Friedl Hit Parlay (-115) ❌ / Locksmith
2025 Record: 41-33 | +7.36u
Although the Backs hold a median average in K% against righties at home this past month, I like the home factor for the Backs.
Projected to be close to 114 degrees, I expect Webb to pitch for contact to give the Giants length.
Meanwhile, his K% also dips when he pitches on the road.
When you look at his underlying stats, his sinker is K’ing more than what it’s supposed to.
If Webb’s pitching for contact, then we should see a heavy dose of it.
Webb will also throw in his sweeper/changeup/four seamer as well for chases/whiffs, but the Backs have been making a high level of contact outside the zone this past month overall so I like our chances here to hold Webb UNDER!
Trea Turner is one of the most consistent hitters in the MLB, boasting a .296 batting average this year, and faces Matt Waldron in his first 2025 pitching appearance.
Turner has failed to get a hit in his last two games, but has only had ONE stretch longer than this since the start of the 2024 season.
Jarren Duran will face Red’s rookie Chase Burns, who posted a solid outing against the Yankees in his MLB start:
C. Burns vs Yankees: 5 IP, 6 Hits, 3 Earned Runs, and 8 Ks on 81 Pitches
Duran tees off at home against righties, and also performs well his first time facing pitchers.
Look for both Duran and Turner to get 4+ plate appearances each tonight and put at least one in play.
California’s DFS and Sweepstakes: A Legal Turning Point
California is on the brink of issuing rulings that could reshape the largest daily fantasy sports (DFS) market in the U.S. and outlaw a booming sweepstakes industry.
Here's what it means for sports bettors, operators, and tribal stakeholders.
Anticipated Attorney General Opinion on DFS
Attorney General Rob Bonta is expected to issue a legal opinion by July 3, 2025, declaring all forms of DFS illegal under California law.
Peer-to-peer
Against the house
Traditional cash-prize contests
Targeted operators would include FanDuel, DraftKings, PrizePicks, Underdog, and any other platforms accepting entry fees would have to halt California operations.
Why It Matters
Market Impact: California's DFS market is estimated to collect over $200 million in entry fees annually.
Legal Gray Area: For a decade, DFS has thrived without explicit state regulation or taxation, and this opinion could finally force clarity or a courtroom showdown.
Industry Response
Coalition for Fantasy Sports: Argues the decision ignores millions of Californians who back DFS and that regulation, not prohibition, should be left to voters.
Court Challenges Expected: Major operators will certainly contest the AG's opinion, citing the market's economic significance and skill-game defenses.
Scope of the Ban
Covered Activities:
Any online/mobile sweepstakes using a dual-currency system.
Games that allow purchase of tokens or grant free “sweepstakes” tokens redeemable for cash or equivalents.
Casino-style simulations—slots, poker, table games, bingo, and sports betting formats.
Targeted Entities:
Operators, platform providers, payment processors, geolocation services, content suppliers, affiliates, and potentially even celebrity endorsers.
Key Takeaways for Bettors, Operators, and Stakeholders
DFS in Jeopardy: An AG opinion deeming DFS illegal could shutter the largest U.S. market or spark high-stakes court battles.
Sweepstakes on the Decline: AB 831 threatens the entire ecosystem, from apps to affiliates, potentially extinguishing a once-booming online vertical.
Tribal Leverage: California's tribes wield significant influence, leveraging IGRA and political capital to enforce gaming exclusivity.
Precedent Setting: California's actions may embolden other states to follow suit (Nevada, NY, Montana, and Connecticut), reshaping the future of online fantasy sports and sweepstakes nationwide.
As the July 3 deadline looms and AB 831 advances through the legislature, California finds itself at a crossroads.
The outcome will not only decide the fate of DFS and sweepstakes in the Golden State but may also set the stages for online gaming regulation across the country.

WNBA: Commissioner’s Cup Championship
Minnesota Lynx (-5.5) vs Indiana Fever | O/U 167.5
Tuesday 7/1, 8:00pm ET | Prime Video
The Lynx (5-1 Cup record) enter as favorites behind elite defense (94.7 rating, league-best) and MVP candidate Napheesa Collier (24.5 PPG).
Collier's health remains questionable for Tuesday's game, which could level the playing field.
Indiana reached their first-ever Cup final thanks to New York's comeback win over Atlanta.
The Fever's young core, led by Aliyah Boston (59.7% FG, league-best) and potentially returning Caitlin Clark, provides the offensive firepower to challenge Minnesota's home-court advantage.
Clark's injury status (groin, soft return date 7/1) will be crucial - her availability will swing both the spread and total.

One bettor turned $150 into $1K on a hits + bases parlay...
A HR parlay with the same players would've paid OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS 😭
