DraftKings Acquisition, 2 MNF Matchups, and the World Series Is Set.

Today's Slate
DraftKings Acquires ‘Simplebet’
DraftKings is set to acquire Simplebet, a leading microbetting provider, in a move that could have a big impact your in-game betting experience (even if you don’t solely use DraftKings).
While the financial details are under wraps, whispers suggest the deal could be worth up to $195 million.

Simplebet offerings for sportsbooks
Simplebet specializes in microbetting, allowing users to wager on specific moments within a game—think predicting the next pitch in baseball or the outcome of a point in tennis.
These bets are quick, binary, and offer instant results, making them perfect for those who love the thrill of fast-paced action.

By integrating Simplebet's cutting-edge machine-learning models into its platform, DraftKings will enhance its in-game betting offerings, providing more precise and rapid betting opportunities.
This means a smoother, faster, and more engaging betting experience for you.
But what about DraftKings' competitors who are also Simplebet customers, like Caesars Sportsbook, Hard Rock, bet365, and ESPNBet?
The acquisition will shake things up.
While it's unclear if these operators will continue their partnerships with Simplebet post-acquisition, they might need to explore other microbetting solutions to keep up with DraftKings' enhanced offerings.
2 MNF Matchups: Betting Previews
Two tight matchups on this fine Monday Night.
Baltimore Ravens @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 8:15pm ET
Baltimore -3.5 | O/U: 49.5
LA Chargers @ Arizona Cardinals | 9:00pm ET
Chargers -1.5 | O/U: 44.5
ESPN+ exclusively
Let’s start out with the first of the two.
Ravens (-185) @ Buccaneers (+165)
Both teams are sporting a 4-2 record, but the Ravens are on a hot streak with four consecutive wins while the Buccaneers are coming off a high-scoring victory against the Saints.
Most total points in the NFL through 7 weeks:
Buccaneers: 178
Ravens: 177Monday Night should be a good one 🍿

This is gonna be a good one.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens' offense is like a well-oiled machine right now, thanks to the electric combination of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.
Jackson is not just a threat with his legs but is also delivering through the air, completing 67% of his passes with 10 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Henry is bulldozing defenses, averaging 5.9 yards per carry with 704 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
This duo is a nightmare for any defense.
Lamar Jackson is the only man on the planet who is allowed to tell Derrick fucking Henry “no” when he asks for the ball on 3rd & 1 to seal the game.
These 2 are legendary.

3:29 PM • Oct 17, 2024
On the flip side, the Ravens' defense has been a bit of a head-scratcher, especially against the pass.
They rank 27th in Dropback EPA per play allowed, which is not ideal when facing a quarterback like Baker Mayfield.
They’ll need to tighten up if they want to keep the Bucs in check.
The Ravens are dealing with some injury concerns, with players like Rasheen Ali and Malik Harrison potentially sidelined.
This game will test their depth, particularly on defense.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker Mayfield is having a renaissance season, leading the league in touchdown passes with 15 and maintaining a stellar 109.4 passer rating.
With targets like Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, the Bucs' passing game is a force to be reckoned with.
Mayfield's ability to spread the ball around makes this offense particularly dangerous.
The Buccaneers' defense has been a bit of a mixed bag.
They rank 19th in points allowed, and their pass defense is particularly leaky, ranking fourth worst in the league.
They'll need to step up to contain Baltimore's dynamic offense.
Tampa Bay is also dealing with its share of injuries, with key player Mike Evans potentially out.
At the time of publishing Evans is set to PLAY tonight
These injuries could impact their ability to keep pace with Baltimore's high-octane attack down the stretch.

Spread
The line has shifted from -5 to -3.5 for Baltimore, indicating some sharp money on Tampa Bay.
However, given Baltimore's offensive prowess, they still look like a solid pick against the spread.
Total Points
With both teams boasting explosive offenses and somewhat porous defenses, the Over at 49.5 is looking mighty tempting.
Baltimore has hit the Over in five of their six games, while Tampa Bay has done so in four of six.
This could easily turn into a scoring fest.
Player Props
Keep an eye on Baker Mayfield's passing touchdowns.
Betting on him to throw for over 1.5 touchdowns seems like a smart play, especially given Baltimore's struggles in the secondary this season.
Final Thoughts
This game has all the ingredients for a high-scoring showdown, with both offenses ready to exploit the defensive weaknesses of their opponents.
While the Buccaneers have shown they can hang tough, the Ravens' offensive firepower, led by the dynamic duo of Jackson and Henry, should ultimately carry the day.
Chargers (-120) @ Cardinals (+110)
The Los Angeles Chargers head to the desert to face the Arizona Cardinals in a matchup that promises to test both teams' mettle.
The Cardinals have not beaten the Chargers since 2014.
Who wins on Monday?
— Cardinals Muse (@CardsMuse)
12:33 AM • Oct 20, 2024
The Chargers, under the guidance of Jim Harbaugh, are looking to build on their 3-2 start, while the Cardinals, sitting at 2-4, are desperate to find some consistency.
With the Chargers favored and the over/under set at 44, this game could be a defensive showcase or a surprising shootout.
Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert is back in form, throwing for 815 yards and six touchdowns with just one interception.
His connection with rookie Ladd McConkey has been promising, though McConkey's concussion status is a concern.
J.K. Dobbins leads the ground game, averaging 5.4 yards per carry, and is poised for a big day against Arizona's porous rush defense.
The Chargers boast the league's top defense, allowing just 13.2 points per game.
Even without Joey Bosa, their defensive line remains formidable.
Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray is the engine of the Cardinals' offense, with 1,186 passing yards and eight touchdowns.
His dual-threat ability is crucial, especially with James Conner providing solid support on the ground.
Marvin Harrison Jr. has been a standout, but his concussion status is a major concern.
The Cardinals' defense has been a liability, allowing 27.2 points per game.
Their inability to stop the run could be exploited by the Chargers' ground game, and their secondary will be tested by Herbert's arm.
The offensive line is banged up, which could spell trouble against the Chargers' pass rush.

Spread
The Chargers are favored, and with good reason.
Their defense is elite, and Herbert's improving health makes them a strong pick against the spread.
At the end of the day, Arizona's inconsistency and defensive struggles make it hard to back them confidently.
Total Points
The under has been a trend in Chargers games, with the 44 line not being covered in their last seven outings.
Given both teams' defensive capabilities and Arizona's offensive struggles, the under is an appealing option.
Player Props
J.K. Dobbins’ rushing yard total is set at 76.5 - He’s had at least this in 3 of the Chargers’ first 5 games.
He's been a workhorse for the Chargers and faces a Cardinals defense that ranks poorly against the run.
Final Thoughts
The Chargers' defense should be the difference-maker in this matchup.
While Kyler Murray's mobility presents a challenge, Los Angeles has the personnel to contain him.
Offensively, Herbert's ability to exploit Arizona's defensive weaknesses will be the key to the game.

We’ve saved the best series for last, and it’s shaping up to be a big one.
The Dodgers secured their spot in the World Series last night with a 10-5 win against the Mets, winning the series 4-2.
The Dodgers will have home advantage in games 1, 2, 6, and 7
The Yankees are back in the World Series for the first time in 15 years, and to say they’ve been rolling this postseason would be quite the understatement.
They took down the Guardians in 5 games (4-1), thanks to an extra innings win on Saturday.

Murray will be one of the better QBs the Chargers have faced so far this year, but he’s had his fair share of inconsistencies and turnovers throughout his career.
At plus odds, this is a play I can’t ignore.
So far, it has produced generous results ranking 9th in rushing yards allowed and 5th in rushing attempts allowed per game against the opposing team’s running backs.
This will also be a short week for the Ravens as they will travel to Cleveland after today’s game and it isn’t a secret that the Ravens are willing to limit Henry’s workload.
In the last 4 games during the streak, Henry has gone over this line against the Cowboys, Bills, and Commanders who rank in the near or at bottom percentile in rushing attempts allowed.
The Bucs have yet to allow another RB this surpass this line.
The Bucs are 26th, however, in Y/A so although they defend the run well, they get caught giving up yards per carry so if Henry can get loose and produce early, it should limit his volume too.
Justice Hill is also used as their change of pace back so with a high game total (50.5) set for tonight’s game, expect Hill out there to earn some snaps there too.
Love the matchup here for some + money on this MNF slate!
This Navy offense ranks #1 in the country in Points per Play, #2 in Yards per Play, and #1 in Redzone Scoring %.
The least points they’ve scored in a game this season was at Air Force when they dropped 34.
But here’s the thing - they haven’t played a defense that’s anywhere NEAR Notre Dame’s, even with the recent season-ending injury to star cornerback Benjamin Morrison.
This defense ranks #3 in both Opp PPG (11.9) and Opp Points per Play, and #5 in Opp Yards per Play.
This Notre Dame defense matchups up nearly perfectly with Navy’s offense.
Combined with the fact that ND is a run-first offense that has a tendency to chew into the clock all game long.
With the regular total line set at 52.5, this is a pure value bet banking on a defensive battle between two Top 25 teams.
