Today's Slate

ICYMI: DraftKings “King of the Court”

DraftKings’ latest offer “King of the Court” is putting a lot of coin in bettors pockets, and you shouldn’t be missing out (especially if you’re an NBA bettor that doesn’t already know about this).

The offer is available to any customer in the US and is pretty simple:

  1. Opt in to receive your Profit Boost Token

  2. Place a wager within the following 2 limits

    1. Minimum odds of -500 (-350, +125, etc.)

    2. Any NBA player prop market, including defense\

If the player you boosted was PRA leader for that day, you win a share of $1,000,000 in Bonus Bets paid out the next day.

Considering you can go as low as -500 and the Profit Boost Token adds a little boost, this is a pretty good offering.

    • 10,850 bettors, $93 Bonus Bet

Game Overview

The New York Giants (2-5) are set to face the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) in a non-conference matchup under the bright lights of Monday Night Football.

The Giants are licking their wounds after a 28-3 drubbing by the Eagles, while the Steelers are riding high after a decisive 37-15 victory over the Jets.

With the Steelers favored by 6 points, this game could be a pivotal moment for both teams as they look to solidify their respective narratives for the season.

New York Giants

Offense

The Giants' offense is in a bit of a pickle, largely due to the absence of left tackle Andrew Thomas.

Daniel Jones, who is often criticized, is struggling without his blindside protector, ranking 24th in PFF grades.

The Giants' offensive line woes are exacerbated by Jones being sacked 46.5% more than any other QB.

However, with guys like Malik Nabers, Theo Johnson, and Darius Slayton, Jones has the weapons to be effective.

If he gets enough time, big plays are there to be made.

  • Johnson and Slayton are averaging over 10 yards per catch this season

Defense

Surprisingly, the Giants' defense has been a bright spot, leading the league with 31 sacks.

Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence spearhead a relentless pass rush, allowing the secondary to capitalize on hurried throws.

The defense excels in tightening up in the red zone, which could be crucial against Russell Wilson and the Steelers.

Injuries

The loss of Andrew Thomas is clearly significant, and the Giants will need to find a way to protect Jones against the Steelers' formidable pass rush.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Offense

Russell Wilson's return has injected life into the Steelers' offense, which saw its yards per play jump from 4.8 to 6.2.

Wilson's connection with targets like George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth, who boasts an 82.8% catch rate.

The Steelers' ground game, led by Najee Harris, also poses a threat, especially against a blitz-happy Giants defense.

Defense

The Steelers' defense is anchored by T.J. Watt, arguably the best pass rusher in the league.

Watt's presence alone can disrupt any offensive game plan, and he’s supported by a solid secondary that capitalizes on pressure-induced errors.

The Steelers rank third in Rush EPA per play allowed, effectively stifling opponents' ground games.

This defensive prowess forces teams to become one-dimensional, playing into the hands of their opportunistic secondary.

Injuries

The Steelers appear relatively healthy, which bodes well for their chances to maintain momentum.

Betting Insights

Spread

The Steelers are favored by 6 points, but this line isn't as straightforward as it seems.

The Giants have a knack for outperforming expectations on the road, and the Steelers are coming off a high after pounding the Jets.

You would think the Steelers’ recent form and home-field advantage would lead to at least a touchdown difference, but that’s not the case.

Total Points

The total is set low (36.5), reflecting the Giants' offensive struggles and the Steelers' solid defense.

The Under is tempting, given that seven of the Giants' last eight games have gone below the total.

With both teams potentially leaning on their defenses, this could turn into a low-scoring affair, making the Under a viable option for those expecting a defensive battle.

However, if the Steelers can manage to put up at least 27 points I could see the Over making it in the end.

Remember, the Giants have some explosive weapons as well. Don’t discount them.

Player Props

Malik Nabers is a player to watch, having consistently surpassed 78 receiving yards in three of his last four outings.

With the Giants likely needing to pass frequently to stay competitive, betting on Nabers to hit the Over on receiving yards could be a smart move.

His ability to stretch the field might be crucial against a Steelers defense focused on pressuring the quarterback.

On the other side, George Pickens’ reception line sits at 4.5 and may very well be the sleeper pick of the night.

He caught 5 of 9 targets against the Jets, going for 111 yards and hauling in a touchdown.

He’s playing against a worse secondary tonight, and it’s hard to imagine Wilson won’t be looking his way all night.

  • -115 on bet365

The Bottom Line

This matchup presents a classic clash of strengths, with the Steelers' balanced offense and stout defense facing a Giants team known for road resilience and a strong pass rush.

While the Giants have a history of covering spreads away from home, the Steelers' recent form and home-field advantage make them a tough opponent.

Community Cappers Lock In Their Weekly Picks

Recapping last week’s picks:

  • Kyler Murray 1+ INT ✅

  • Derrick Henry u18.5 Rush Attempts ✅

  • PSG to Win vs PSV & Over 2.5 Goals ❌

  • Sweetheart Teaser ❌

  • ND/Navy Under ❌

  • Overall Record: 7-8 | +0.1u

Banchero should be matched up against him and will have his hands full with Siakam who is going to be looking to play make and be aggressive which could Banchero away from crashing the glass.

This will also be Banchero’s first matchup against a PF who’s a focal point of the other team’s offense.

Banchero’s matchups have been against Jovic, Cam Johnson, and Jaren Jackson Jr. (JJJ).

Even with JJJ, Banchero was tasked to defend him and went under this line.

The Pacers are already 1st in opponents assists allowed per 100 possessions so there’s that part.

In H2H’s last year, Banchero has only averaged 8 RA’s per game against the Pacers and there’s also a chance for blowout potential against the Pacers if they rest do rest Hali.

Either way, I’m in!

Today, he faces an ATL defense that has already allowed the 2nd-most wide open 3PA/G and most above the break 3PM/G and are now on the second leg of a back-to-back that involved travel.

Kuzma has never posted a < 33.3% 3P% season for WSH so regression is coming at some point.

  • Projecting 5.25 3PA, 1.82 3PM 🧪

However, with the Giants at +7, we’re taking a strategic contrarian stance: FADE THE PUBLIC.

Now don’t get me wrong - the Penn State defense is no joke.

But they’ve had breakdowns (giving up 27 at home to Bowling Green), and the Ohio State offense has the talent to create big plays.

I’d also point out that Drew Allar is reportedly a game-time decision for this matchup - James Franklin has already stated that they’ll be preparing both QBs for this game and Allar will be a game-time decision.

  • Sophomore Beau Pribula has thrown for 23 attempts this season, with 3 TDs and 1 INT.

Ohio State’s defense is salivating at the prospect of facing Pribula over Allar.

The way I see it, no matter which QB starts, Ohio State’s offense is ready to unleash hell in Beaver Stadium.
