Community Cappers Lock In Their Weekly Picks

Pitching behind Skenes, I expect this Pirates group to come out extra motivated especially after his comments about Shelton’s firing.

  • High winds blowing towards LF could affect Peterson’s location.

Citi Field is a tough place to generate offense but produces a lot of plate appearances, which is why I think the Pirates will exercise a lot of patience at bat (already not much of chasers) and draw walks.

Peterson went for 100+ pitches last game and I doubt he’ll do that again especially with a fresh Mets BP.

With only a median of 15.5 median at home, we get a friendly line and price due to the Pirates being the Pirates.

  • Let’s make the books pay 😈. Give us the UNDER 🤝🏽

Their away splits in batting all rank in the bottom percentile against righties.

Mahle’s ERA and FIP don’t really correlate, which means that Mahle’s been getting lucky.

However, if his luck runs out it certainly won’t be against the road Rockies IMO.

Underlying splits show that he’ll most likely regress on the road than at home.

His four seamer and splitter combo should be enough to hold the Rockies under.

Mahle doesn’t really go deep into games averaging 85-90 also.

  • I’ll be happy to take it here!

Enter Rory McIlroy, who is one of the best drivers of the golf ball the game has seen.

He has won 4 times at Quail Hollow so he knows he can have success at this course.

Coming off his win at The Masters he knows he can still win majors.

  • To get this at plus money is incredible value.

The first Martingale-style bet Building Bankroll has seen (so far).

This series starts tomorrow @ 7:07pm ET, with the final game on Thursday @ 3:07pm.

  • If the Rays do get swept, a bettor tailing this play will be down -6u. If you’re not willing to ride it out, don’t take the play.

  • If the Rays win tomorrow night, no more doubling down.

BetBitez also has his own sports betting newsletter - Check it out if you haven’t already.

These guys bat in the 1 and 2 spots for the Brewers, and each respectively handle right-handed pitchers very well.

Their average has fallen over the past week compared to what they are capable of, and I’m backing them to start heating back up tonight.

NCAA to Lift Ban on Pro Sports Betting?

Change is brewing in college sports betting policy (again)

The NCAA is "on track" with a proposal to allow athletes, coaches, and staff to bet on professional sports - a significant shift from a long-standing ban.

First Reported by Pat Forde (SI)

  • College sports betting by insiders would still be off-limits.

Where Things Stand

  • Current Rule: No betting on any NCAA-sponsored sport—college or pro—by athletes, coaches, and staff.

  • Proposed Change: Division I Board voted 21-1 to remove the ban on pro sports betting. The Division I Council will discuss next week

    • If approved, new rules could be in place as early as June.

Why Now?

  • Legal betting is live in nearly 80% of U.S. states, making strict enforcement tougher by the day

  • Most violations have been minor; often resulting in small penalties for pro sports bets.

Rationale Behind the Decision

The NCAA wants to devote more resources to protecting game integrity (think: point-shaving, match-fixing) instead of chasing minor pro-betting cases.

The NCAA is also weighing “safe harbor” options—potentially lighter penalties or immunity for athletes who self-report gambling issues and seek help.

NCAA Opens the Books: Selling Championship Data to Sportsbooks

On a related note, the NCAA will now sell live championship event data to sportsbooks through a new deal with Genius Sports.

  • What’s Covered: March Madness and all NCAA championships (not regular-season games or the College Football Playoff).

  • What’s Not Allowed: Sportsbooks must ban “high-risk” prop bets—especially athlete-specific and negative-outcome wagers—to access NCAA data.

  • Purpose: More oversight, better monitoring for fraud, and new revenue to fund athlete protection and gambling education.

Quick Take

This is a major pivot by the NCAA.

They’re barreling into the modern betting era—but want sportsbooks to dial back the riskiest types of bets and cooperate with investigations.

The Bottom Line for Bettors

  • If you’re a college athlete or staffer, betting on professional sports could soon be legal—but stay away from college action.

  • Expect fewer prop bets (like “Will Player X score 15+?”) during March Madness at regulated sportsbooks.

We'll keep you updated as these rules take shape—and what it means for betting markets.

New season tips off Friday, May 16th.

  • The Golden State Valkyries make their franchise debut against LA, while Atlanta/Washington and Minnesota/Dallas round out a three-game slate.

  • Early season often = mispriced lines and rookie-driven volatility—great spot for sharp bettors watching injury news and rotation updates.

Slip of the Week

Cavaliers got it done in Indianapolis, but the Thunder took the L to the Nuggets in overtime (104-113). 😰
